15+yearsdesigningproducts,brands,andexperiences.

I started designing and building for online communities as a teenager, turning Photoshop layouts into HTML for gaming sites. That early mix of visual design and front-end never really split. It carried into freelance work, a co-founded studio, agency work at MediaMonks, and later into product roles where strategy, interface, and implementation increasingly became one discipline.

Over the past 15+ years, I have worked across startups, agencies, and in-house teams, shaping digital products, brands, and the experiences around them. My background across design, front-end engineering, brand, and product has made me most useful where those disciplines overlap.

At The Office Service, I helped reposition the company around a clearer product idea and designed the platform used by teams at ASML, Allen & Overy, and Cisco. At TrucksNL, I led design and front-end for TradeWorld, a dealer platform used across 20+ countries and 250+ European marketplaces, shipping six product modules and later building Smart Fill, an AI workflow that turned a few photos into a 300-field stock listing.

Central to my approach is the idea that every product begins with a promise, something small, true, and repeatable. The work is to uncover that promise and sharpen it into a lens through which every decision becomes clear.

  • 2023 — 2025

    Design Engineer

    TrucksNL · Wijchen

    Led design for TradeWorld, a dealer SaaS platform replacing TrucksNL's legacy stock system for 1,700+ sellers across 20+ countries and 250+ European marketplaces. I ran discovery, tested flows in code, designed the brand and interface, and built the Vue/Nuxt design system used in production. Shipped six modules, including a full stock-management rebuild. Later designed Smart Fill, an AI workflow that turns vehicle photos into a guided review instead of a 300-field manual form.

    Lead Product Designer

    The Office Service · Amsterdam

    Led the design of a white-label employee platform used across 80+ organizations, including ASML, Allen & Overy, and Cisco. I repositioned the product around "the hour," designed the product experience, and started contributing Vue front-end code from 2021. I also handled the broader creative work: pitch decks, commercials, client-branded material, and two spinout identities. When COVID broke the workplace-services model, I designed the gamified wellness platform that became the new offer.

    User Experience Designer

    MediaMonks · Hilversum

    Worked on client UX projects including Google, while also leading the design of MediaMonks Connect, an internal product for a 175-person international agency. I interviewed employees, mapped workflows, and turned that research into nine clear product opportunities and a responsive high-fidelity interface. MediaMonks offered me a full-time role at the end of the internship.

    Founding Digital Designer

    Threefold · Arnhem

    Co-founded a small digital studio while studying. I led design across websites, brand identities, and interactive projects, working directly with clients from scope and creative direction through prototype and delivery.

    Product Designer

    TWIMP · Arnhem

    Helped define and design a gamified CRM platform intended for international launch. I worked on the concept, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypes for the web app, iPhone app, and promo site. The prototypes became implementation specs for an offshore development team. I joined as an intern and moved into a full role.

    Kept an independent design practice alongside my main roles from 2007 onward. The work has covered branding, interface design, and front-end development for small businesses, usually from first scope through design, prototype, and delivery.

    Kami

    iOS app, Beta

    A native iOS app for controlling your smart home, built with SwiftUI and Home Assistant. Apple Home is missing features I wanted, so I built them. Insights cards that visualize sensor history at a glance. Live Activities that tell you when the washer is done or the robot vacuum finishes. And Adaptive Home, the core feature: the app knows where you are in the house and adjusts the UI around it. Your current room moves to the top. Camera feeds surface when you're away. Announcements route to the right speaker. Home automation becomes a different thing when it knows where everyone is. Beta ready, used daily.

    PaperView

    M5Stack Paper S3, Beta

    An extension of Kami's design language onto e-paper hardware. A mountable e-ink display (M5Stack Paper S3) that becomes part of the home instead of sitting on top of it. Clean, minimal, with the most common actions always a swipe away. Mount it on a wall or carry it between rooms. In remote mode, it adapts to whatever room you're in.

    BSc in Communication & Multimedia Design

    HAN University of Applied Sciences

    Design degree focused on digital interaction, visual communication, and creative problem-solving. Projects ranged from rich internet applications to ambient intelligence exploration, including a digital media project that earned the Innovation Award.

    Diploma in Multimedia Design

    ROC Nijmegen

    Design program across digital and print media. Logos, videos, websites, apps, posters, brochures. Where I learned visual design fundamentals and found my own style.

    Innovation Award

    HAN University of Applied Sciences

    Awarded for Arena, a personal growth platform that combined psychology, storytelling, and gamification. Users were assigned a personality type and guided through a challenge-based journey inspired by the Hero's Journey. Faculty praised it as a "forward-thinking contribution to societal impact" for translating complex psychological concepts into an intuitive, accessible experience.

  • 2012

    Best Game Concept

    HAN University of Applied Sciences

    Awarded for Helix, a tension-driven survival game inspired by Battle Royale. Before the battle royale genre existed, Helix introduced mechanics now central to the format; shrinking safe zones, last-player-standing gameplay, and environmental pressure. The concept won and moved into development, where I led the design from vision to production.
